Josef Newgarden enters his 15th season in 2026 and his 10th consecutive season with Team Penske, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet. The 35-year-old two-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion aims for redemption after a challenging 2025 season. He won the 2023 and 2024 Indianapolis 500 events, becoming the first back-to-back winner since Helio Castroneves in 2001 and 2002. With 32 career wins, he is the winningest active American driver in the series and ranks third among active drivers in wins and poles, totaling 61 podiums overall.
An INDY NXT by Firestone graduate, Newgarden won the 2011 championship with five victories. Off the track, he enjoys traveling with his wife Ashley and son Kota, exploring new cities and cultures. He holds dual citizenship in the United States and Denmark, lived in England from 2009 to 2010, and traveled Europe while racing in Formula Ford and GP3. He is also the author of two children’s books: Josef, The Indy Car Driver and Josef’s Big Dream: An Indy 500 Story.
