Dale Coyne Racing
Get to Know the Team
Dale Coyne Racing boasts a long and distinguished history in INDYCAR SERIES competition. Founded in 1984 as an owner-driver team, Dale Coyne competed in seven CART seasons before shifting his focus in 1990 toward mentoring and developing emerging talent.
From Dean Hall in 1990 to Alex Palou in 2020 and beyond, Coyne’s commitment to nurturing drivers has consistently delivered results. That investment paid off with the team’s first victory in July 2009, when Justin Wilson triumphed at Watkins Glen. Wilson added a second win at Texas Motor Speedway in 2012, followed by Mike Conway’s victory in the opening race of the 2013 Belle Isle doubleheader. Rookie Carlos Huertas produced a surprise breakthrough in Houston in 2014, securing the team’s fourth career win, and Sebastien Bourdais marked his return to the organization in 2017 by capturing the season opener at St. Petersburg.
In 2026, Dale Coyne Racing will field the No. 18 entry for veteran Romain Grosjean and the No. 19 for rookie Dennis Hauger as part of a technical partnership with Andretti Global. Grosjean returns to the team after his 2021 rookie campaign, during which he earned three podiums and one NTT P1 Award.
