Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR) announced Sept. 5 that Conor Daly has signed a multiyear agreement to drive the team’s new full-time No. 24 entry in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES beginning in 2027,

In addition, DRR also announced the team will field Honda engines in the 2027 NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The organization previously used Honda engines in the series from 2005-11.

“I am extremely grateful to get back to full-time INDYCAR racing with my friends at Dreyer and Reinbold Racing and Honda,” Daly said. “The faith that this group has shown in me is something that makes me want to work harder than ever before to deliver. We, as a team, will aim every day to make Dennis (Reinbold) proud of the effort we put in to be competitive and continue the team’s legacy.”

DRR will return to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES full time for the 2027 campaign for the first time since 2012 when Oriol Servia drove the team’s lone entry. On July 22, DRR announced the team had purchased one NTT INDYCAR SERIES charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for its 2027 full-time series return.

The DRR team, established in 1999, continues the 100-year legacy of the Dreyer and Reinbold families in open-wheel racing dating back to DRR team owner Dennis Reinbold’s grandfather, the legendary Floyd “Pop” Dreyer, who served as a mechanic for the Duesenberg team in the 1920s. Dreyer was also a renowned race car builder, constructing cars for the entire 1931 Indy 500 front row. Reinbold passed away June 13.

DRR has been a participant in the legendary Indianapolis 500 since 2000, with 58 drivers qualifying for the famed “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Daly also returns to full-time action after 133 NTT INDYCAR SERIES starts during his career dating back to his series debut in 2013 in the Indy 500. The veteran driver has a best series finish of second at Detroit in 2016. Daly also won a pole position at Iowa Speedway in 2020.

The Indianapolis-area native has made two Indy 500 starts with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, in 2024 and 2026, finishing 10th and 12th, respectively, and leading 26 laps in the races.

“Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is returning to full-time competition in 2027 with Honda engines, and Conor Daly is the driver we want leading that return,” said Derek Reinbold, DRR CEO. “Conor has raced for us at Indianapolis, so we know how he prepares, how he works with engineers and how much he gets out of a car. He has shown for years that he can win the Indianapolis 500, and our job is to give him a car that lets him do it.

“We are building a team that contends every weekend, and Conor is the driver we trust to carry that effort across the full season. An Indiana driver in an Indiana team’s car is exactly how we want to come back.”
