This feature at INDYCAR.com showcases special or returning liveries that teams will race at NTT INDYCAR SERIES events this season.

This installment focuses on the Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C., on Sunday, Aug. 23 (11:30 a.m. ET FOX, FOX One, INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls) on a new circuit on the streets of the American capital city.

It’s arguably the biggest race in recent INDYCAR SERIES history outside of the Indianapolis 500, so nearly half of the cars on the grid will display patriotic, stars-and-stripes liveries to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Marcus Armstrong

Marcus Armstrong – Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian

Marcus Armstrong’s livery for the No. 66 Honda, featuring real estate giant REMAX, is one of the most patriotic of this event, resembling a rolling flag.

Felix Rosenqvist

Felix Rosenqvist – Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian

2026 Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge winner Felix Rosenqvist will showcase MSR’s continued partnership with Texas A&M University. The patriotic livery coincides with the launch of A&M’s new campaign, “Together, We Stand as a Force for Good.”

Graham Rahal

Graham Rahal – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

Graham Rahal and RLL welcome Indianapolis-based Gaylor Electric and its patriotic livery as primary sponsor for the No. 15 at this event. Gaylor is an award-winning contractor that provides design-build electrical construction, on-demand electrical support and utility services nationwide.

Marcus Ericsson

Marcus Ericsson – Andretti Global

Marcus Ericsson won last Sunday in Markham with specialty insurance, financial solutions and analytical services company RVI Group on the sidepods of the No. 28 Honda for the first time. He hopes to continue those winning ways this weekend with support from Acura, the luxury and performance division of Honda that already has appeared this season on the No. 66 Honda of Marcus Armstrong.

David Malukas

Scott McLaughlin

Josef Newgarden

The sponsors are familiar for Penske triplets David Malukas (No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet), Scott McLaughlin (No. 3 PPG Chevrolet, image, top of page) and Josef Newgarden (No. 2 Astemo Chevrolet), but the liveries are bold and patriotic to match the celebratory mood of America’s 250th birthday this weekend in the District of Columbia.

The stars and red-white-and-blue color scheme of the front of Malukas’ car has a bit of an Evel Knievel American icon vibe, don’t you think?

Christian Rasmussen

Alexander Rossi

ECR is leaning all in on featuring the U.S.-grown Splenda Stevia as part of the stars-and-stripes liveries for the No. 20 of Alexander Rossi and the No. 21 of Christian Rasmussen.

Rinus VeeKay

Rinus VeeKay – Juncos Hollinger Racing

Sponsor Orion180, a leading insurance provider offering homeowners, flood, and property insurance solutions, is leaning all in on the patriotic theme of the weekend on Rinus VeeKay’s No. 76 Chevrolet.
