INDYCAR Fast Six: What's trending In @INDYCAR
JUN 27, 2018
INDYCAR's #FastSix is a report that borrows from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We find pics, quips and the occasional GIF as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence on Twitter, Instagram and more. This week, we turn over the Fast Six reigns to the INDYCAR webmaster, as we take a final look back at the week of Road America and things we might have missed.
National Selfie Day
June 21 was #NationalSelfieDay. While many drivers pulled out their cameras for their own shots, Andretti Autosport went back to 2014 and found one of the best Indy car selfies ever during a rain delay in St. Petersburg.
An oldie, but a goodie. #NationalSelfieDay #IndyCar pic.twitter.com/GC1pPblw0y

The next generation
The fans at Road America come by the thousands. This past weekend, the hills were packed, lines were plenty, the track action couldn't be beat. Graham Rahal took particular interest in thanking the Road America fans, especially the younger fans. They truly are why we race!
Not necessarily a cheerleader, but ...
When you're a race car driver, there's no better place to be but behind the wheel. However, when one isn't driving, you can usually find them hanging out in pit lane or even the stands. Such was the case with Jordan King, as he watches Ed "Bossman" Carpenter pound around the bullring of Iowa Speedway today during a test.

The high line
There are only a number of drivers known (and brave enough) to regularly run the high line at an oval. Tomas Scheckter lived up there his entire career. Tony Kanaan is a frequent visitor. Ryan Hunter-Reay shows no fear there. Alexander Rossi redefined the high line at Indy this year. Simon Pagenaud has been known to run the high line from time to time, but it looks like there may be a new high line king (or queen?) at Iowa Speedway.
My driver coach looks a little different for the @iowaspeedway test tomorrow... but he’s really proficient on the high line 😂 🐰 🐇 #IndyCar pic.twitter.com/KHAvhWn6jy

High line master. Very much to learn here, but he seems easily distracted by carrots? 🐰#IndyCar pic.twitter.com/hfMuXcgPx4

Blast from the past
Sebastien Bourdais and chief engineer Craig Hampson made a quick road trip following Road America to visit an old friend at their old stomping grounds, Newman/Haas Racing. Our ode to see that livery once again for a throwback race.
Stopped by a familiar place this with Craig. Lots of awesome memories in that building! pic.twitter.com/aJc552bfg5

Fore!!
Between our events at Road America and Iowa Speedway, the entire INDYCAR paddock and fans can take a well-deserved weekend off and then enjoy the Fourth of July. Charlie Kimball already has his golf clubs out for a charity outing with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Indiana Chapter. From a golfing perspective, Charlie's a pretty good race car driver, as it looks like a tough second shot looms from the heather.
