In 1999, the world was introduced to Juan Montoya, who steamrolled through the 1999 CART season with seven victories and the series championship. However, 2000 wasn't shaping up to be his year, and as he was eyeballing his next opportunity in Formula 1, he wanted to put himself in reach of his second-consecutive championship.
