An honor for a lifetime

On Saturday, 2012 NTT IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay was honored at the 13th annual Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance, winning the prestigious Motorsports Lifetime Achievement award. Hunter-Reay, a graduate of nearby Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was presented the award by former late-night show host and car enthusiast Jay Leno.

All he does is win, win, win

Congrats to reigning Indy Pro 2000 Champion presented by Cooper Tires champ Rinus VeeKay, who captured the F3 Asian Winter Series championship this past weekend. We can’t wait to see what he does in Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires with Juncos Racing this year.

Good luck at the test next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Rinus!

It’s all Swedish to us …

We’ve loved watching the budding friendship between rookie Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports rookie Marcus Ericsson and teammate James Hinchcliffe develop over the past few months. Next up for this dynamic duo is a language lesson for “Yames” that seems slightly, well, off.

Going for four, not fore

PGA Tour golfer Ryan Palmer captured this excellent shot of our Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver Graham Rahal teeing off at the Honda Classic Pro-Am on Wednesday morning. Rahal is a great INDYCAR driver and no slouch driving a golf ball, either. He’s a three-time winner of the event.

Getting closer to the streets of St. Pete – literally!

Almost an annual tradition at this point, 11 drivers took to Sebring International Raceway on Monday to prepare for the upcoming Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the NTT IndyCar Series season opener just two hours west of Sebring, Florida. Another 11 drivers will hit the track on March 4 before the race to St. Pete begins. Check out this action shot of Zach Veach’s No. 26 Gainbridge Honda from Andretti Autosport.
